TOPIC: COMMUNICATION
Understanding different attitudes to sexual health
Sexual health services should be available to everybody, regardless of age, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or disability. However, people from different backgrounds have different attitudes to sex and different sexual health needs.
Being aware of sexual health issues affecting gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender patients, as well as people from black and minority ethnic communities and people of different ages, can help you communicate with patients more effectively and help provide them with the most appropriate healthcare for their needs.
